Speaking during the visit, the State President of ANCOPSS, Hon. Suberu Omananyi, praised the Accountant-General for her outstanding leadership, professionalism, and steadfast commitment to transparency, accountability, and prudent management of public funds. He also acknowledged her continuous support for government initiatives, especially those targeted at the downtrodden, the less privileged, and various professional and community-based organizations.
The delegation further commended the visionary, people-oriented leadership of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, noting that his administration’s emphasis on education reforms, institutional capacity building, and grassroots development has fostered a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning across the state. They described the Governor’s dedication to education as a vital catalyst for sustainable development and social advancement.
Hon. Omananyi appealed to the state government, through the Accountant-General, to urgently address the shortage of teachers in secondary schools. He also stressed the need for the deployment of night guards to all schools to curb the rising cases of theft and vandalism affecting school facilities.
In her response, Chief Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko expressed deep appreciation to ANCOPSS Kogi Central for the visit, describing it as both motivating and reassuring. She reaffirmed her resolve to continue supporting initiatives aimed at improving educational standards and strengthening public institutions, emphasizing that education remains the foundation of long-term national development.
She urged school principals to remain committed, disciplined, and innovative in carrying out their duties, noting that leadership in education is a service-oriented responsibility that shapes the future of society. She also praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his inclusive and development-focused leadership, assuring the delegation of her continued support for policies that promote educational advancement and good governance. She promised to personally convey the concerns raised—particularly the need for night guards and additional teachers—to His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Chief Dr. Onumoko offered prayers that Almighty Allah continues to guide, protect, and strengthen the Governor with wisdom, good health, and clarity of purpose. She prayed that Allah crowns his efforts with success, blesses him with loyal and capable aides, and grants his administration lasting achievements in education, peace, unity, and economic growth.
As part of the visit, she extended a goodwill gesture to the principals in attendance by presenting them with wrappers, cash, and bags of rice to support their Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The visit ended with prayers for the continued success of the Kogi State Government, sustained progress in the education sector, group photographs, and moments of warm interaction.
