KEDA Unveils Bold Initiatives to Empower MSMEs and Boost Kogi State’s Economy:

KEDA to Empower MSMEs in Lokoja, Kogi State – 

In alignment with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo's vision to foster employment opportunities and stimulate economic growth, the Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA) is poised to empower Micro, Small, and Medium-Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) throughout the state.


The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of KEDA, Honourable Muhammed Kadiri Okeji, shared this strategic focus during an interview with Lugard TV in Lokoja. He underscored the pivotal role of MSMEs as engines of economic growth globally, highlighting the importance of supporting these enterprises to bolster business development, job creation, and economic resilience in Kogi State.

Okeji reaffirmed KEDA's dedication to its core mandate: identifying and leveraging opportunities from both national and international entities to advance the state's economic agenda.

 

Strategic Initiatives and Their Benefits


MSMEs 2024 Award 


Participation:

KEDA has meticulously selected and prepared ten entrepreneurs from Kogi State to participate in the prestigious MSMEs 2024 Award.


 Benefits :


1. Exposure and Recognition: This initiative provides a platform for local entrepreneurs to gain national recognition, boosting their confidence and credibility.

2. Business Growth: The exposure can attract potential investors and partners, facilitating business expansion and innovation.

Kogi Fashion Shared Facility :

Located in Okene, this state-of-the-art facility offers extensive skill acquisition programs in garment manufacturing and fashion design.

4. Entrepreneurial Clusters and Cooperative Societies:

KEDA plans to organize entrepreneurs into cooperative societies and establish Trust Funds to amplify business opportunities.

In a bid to provide targeted support, KEDA’s representatives have embarked on a sensitization and data verification campaign, engaging with 225 MSMEs across the state’s 21 Local Government Areas.
