Our Kainji Dam will be useless if Niger Republic Decide to Build thier own power station - Sani

Shehu Sani, a former Nigerian Senator, author and activist have reacted to the latest sanctions on the Niger Republic by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The former Nigerian lawmaker advised the Nigerian government against tempering with electricity supply to Niger Republic as part of ECOWAS sanctions to the country in the face of the latest Military coup detat in Niger Republic.

“The reported Nigerian alleged tempering with electricity supply to the Niger Republic is wrong. We must not use power supplies as a means of political blackmail. It will not change anything. If Niger decides to build their power station across their part of the River Niger, our Kainji Dam will be rendered useless, Shehu Sani disclosed in a recent post.

President Tinubu and ECOWAS leaders should allow the People of Niger Republic to decide on how they want their country to be governed. Don’t be instigated by France to go to war that we don’t need. When we had a military regime, we fought to free ourselves; let them make their decisions, Shehu Sani explained amid the ongoing crisis in Niger Republic.
