A leader of the Ododo School to School Campaign (OSSC), Adabara Abduljelil El-Okene, has lauded the nominarion of Joel Oyibo Salifu as the Running Mate to Alh. Ododo Ahmed Usman, All Progressive Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate.
Inside Nigeria News reported how Mr Joel’s nomination was confirmed on Saturday at Glass House meeting presided by the Governor.
In a statement he personally signed, Comrade Adabara said Comrade Joel’s intellect, broad experience and skills in administration as a teacher and diplomacy have adequately prepared and equipped him for the important job he now has.
“I congratulate Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu on his selection and commend Governor Yahaya Bello for making such a thoughtful and prudent choice at this crucial moment.”
“Comrade JOS will work competently and with dedication to help His Excellency, Ododo Ahmed Usman incoming Governor to advance his policy and governance priorities just as he did in the past when he served as State Chairman Nigeria Union of Teacher.”
“My personal knowledge of Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu is that he is an erudite man who knows and loves this state and who strongly believes in the Kogites project and Governor Yahaya Bello’s New Direction Agenda now Consolidation Hope.”
“He is no stranger to our party, APC, and its progressive state vision,” he said.
“May the guidance and protection of Almighty Allah be with him as he begins the task of assisting the Ododo Ahmed Usman in forging a better Kogi and a better life for all of its people after November 11 Victory at the poll.”
BASED ON MERIT
In the same vein, Director General, Ododo School to School Campaign, Chatta Ubaid has also congratulated Mr Salifu Oyibo Joel on his nomination as the running mate to Alh. Ododo Ahmed Usman.

In a statement by himself, described the nomination as a well-deserved one and based on merit considering his pedigree in diplomacy, administration and academics.
“I want to particularly applaud Governor Yahaya Bello for nominaring Comrade Salifu Oyibo Joel as his deputy governor candidate. This is indeed a good choice. I believe with his vast knowledge, experience and pedigree in administration and diplomacy both at state and national levels as leader of Teachers, he will give Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo the needed support and loyalty to deliver on his mandate and take the state to the next level”.
ROUND PEG IN ROUND HOLE
The State Secretary of Ododo School to School Campaign, Mathias M Yahaya Ofu, also congratulated Mr Salifu Joel Oyibo.
Mathias Yahaya Ofu, in his statement said he believes Mr Joel is a round peg in a round hole, considering his experience over the years.
He said he is an outstanding academic, Mr Joel would bring his experience of decades to bear in his new state assignment.
‘‘My personal and official interactions with Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu have brought about nothing but meaningful development. He is a man of many parts.’’
“I want to congratulate the deputy governorship candidate to the Governorship candidate on his nomination. I know with his vast experience and connections with school management and teachers, Joel will use all of that for the betterment of Kogi. I wish him a success.
RIGHT MAN FOR THE JOB
Similarly, State Deputy Coordinator Kogi East Ododo School to School Campaign, Omatola Lucky, described the nomination. He said Joel Oyibo Salifu is a man of impeccable character, right temperament, leadership and knowledge.
Salifu Oyibo is not just an academic, he is a fine gentleman, a decent Kogites who epitomizes the Kogites dream, One People! One Destiny!
Lucky said the several years of experience garnered by the deputy governorship candidate in various fields of politics, academics, research and management, would help the APC Governor ship candidtate in the onerous tasks of administering the state.
EXCEPTIONAL KOGITES
The NIGERIA UNION OF TEACHERS (NUT) in a statement by its Kogi Central Chairman, Onotu Sheid who double as Liaison Officer Ododo School to School Campaign for Teachers said it welcomes the news of the nomination of Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu.
According to the statement, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu is the State Chairman Nigeria Union of Teachers who once said teachers will decide who will lead the state in 2023 after the tenure of Governor Yahaya Bello. He made this statement while addressing a press conference on the 8th January, 2023, at Lokoja. As God deed it, he was nominated as the deputy governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC).
Mr Onotu stated that it is a very well-deserved appointment, not because he is one of them, their Cjairman and mentor, but because he is an exceptional Kogites, who has creditably distinguished himself in Kogi and Nigeria through the Nigeria Labour Congess where he served as State Treasurer of the Nation body for years.
