The Travails Of The Kwankwassiya Dynasty.

The former governor of Kano State and the leader of the Kwankwasiya movement, Rabiu Kwankwaso is in trouble. He has become so vocal and erratic in the last few months that you can not but wonder what must have trigered his incessant and politically unsettling comments.

First he offered himself to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, then he offers himself to any politcal party that is willmg to go into an alliance with his party, the NNPP. Today as a matter of politcal exigencies, Rabio Kwankwaso is practically begging to be part of ADC. Something is definitely putting fire under the former minister of defence. Enters the Kano state governor, Abba Yussuf.

The reason for Kwankwaso's restlessness is Governor Abba Yussuf who was hand-picked to be govemor by Rabiu Kwankwaso in a surprise political move,Governor Abba Yussuf joined the APC after falling out with his mentor and Godfather, Rabiu Kwankwaso. By his defection to the rulling party, Governor Abba Yussuf has splited the Kwakwasiya dynasty into half; thereby breaking the hold of Rabiu Kwankwaso on Kano politics. Rabiu Kwankwaso is loosing both power and influence in kano politics.

Governor Abba Yussuf has suddenly threw Rabiu Kwankwaso into a dilemma and a state of restlessness.Kwankwaso is trying to sell himself to any available party to shore up is waning influence and dwindling power.The govemor has pulled the rug under his feet. Kwankwaso's NNPP that has been projected a beautiful politcal bride by is practically begging for a partner because of this setback.

Governor Abba Yussuf has demostrated high level of intelligence, political versatility and patience to displace Rabiu Kwankwaso who has been his friends for more than forty years and also an inlaw. What Simi Fubara couldn't do in River state, Abba Yussuf attained without stress in Kano. The governor played his game so nicely that he succeded in winning the entire legislative arm to his side. He also won the entire local government chairmen in Kano to his side.

These are chairmen who were singlehandedly handpicked by Rabio Kwankwaso. Yet they chose to align with the governor when the crisis broke between both men. The governor was able to pulled this off because he is the first governor if not the only one who has implemented the local government autonomy law in the nation. All kano state local govenment chairmen receives their allocation directly and are grateful to the governor.

Rabiu Kwankwaso is currently offering his service to ADC and any other party who will accede tonhis requests The NNPP is offering itself like women of easy virtues to any available customer because governor Abba Yussuf has taken his loyalty amd half of the votes of NNPP to the rulling party. Kano state is now firmly secured in the president's kitty.

The ADC as a party don't look like a formidable opppsition after all. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu looks unstoppable as more states have falling onto his laps in recent months. Alhaji Atiku Abubarka is about to experience his worst election in 2027. It will be so bad he will willingly retire fom active politics after the election.
