According to Al Jazeera, The Merkava tank is considered to be one of the most fortified and powerful tanks in the world, designed to withstand anti-tank missiles and rocket-propelled grenades.
However, it was no match for the Al-Yassin shell, a locally manufactured projectile that can penetrate up to 300 mm of steel.
The al-Qassam Brigades also claimed that they had killed four Israeli soldiers east of the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, using a homemade rifle called “Ghoul”. The rifle, which has a range of 1.5 km, can fire armor-piercing bullets that can kill or injure soldiers wearing bulletproof vests.
The al-Qassam Brigades said that these operations were part of their ongoing resistance against the Israeli occupation and aggression, and vowed to continue their struggle until the liberation of Palestine.
