The SDP candidate for governor of Kogi State, Murtala Ajaka, emphasized the wider consequences of alleged electoral malpractice for the nation's democratic process's stability and credibility. He suggested that this could cause discontent and unrest among the electorate, particularly among his supporters, who might feel betrayed by the purported irregularities in the election results.
Ajaka expressed his dissatisfaction and disappointment with the Kogi State election process in an interview with Channels Television. He doubts the effectiveness of going to court because of the apparent bias and opaque nature of the electoral process.
According to him, "I've been around for the past 20 years, and I know what it is. What am I going to court to do? The same INEC that did this is going to come as a witness to defend what they've done. It's a waste of time. To do what? Except for the party people, because I'm hugely disappointed. And what INEC is doing is, if the INEC chairman allows this to stand, they are looking for trouble in Nigeria because you cannot tell me or be giving the assurances that the election is going to be transparent."

If you happen go to court, we have counter evidence that will even slash your votes by about 40%. Ebira people that you termed as your common enemy actually have to show you that we have the strengths and not minority

ReplyDeleteWhat the kogites especially the youth must know is that, if things continued this way, there might never be a space for we to showcase our leadership potentialities at the national and international level. Because the nation and the world at large would take us for granted . Because the political atmosphere in Kogi and Kano state is becoming something else. History would definitely hold us to accountability as political jokers. Let's put Ebira, lgala,Okun and whatsoever tribe apart. Kogi state is one of the most richest states in Nigeria intense of human and natural resources but when it comes to the share of the national cake we are always left behind. Because we lack men of integrity and bravity that can withstand the test of time. Therefore is highly time we form a formidable force that would enable us right the wrong before it will be too late for us as the youth whom shall be shoulder with the duties as nationalists in the nearest future.
