OSSC/ETF holds 3rd edition of Ododo inter-schools quiz and debate competition in ECSS, Adavi LGA

The Adavi local government area  Ododo Inter-Secondary School Debate Competition was held on September 26, in the Community Secondary School, Ogaminana, by the Ododo School to School Campaign (OSSC) organisation.

The debate competion, which consisted of twenty (20) different secondary schools selected across the Adavi local government area were exposed to questions bordering on the mitigation of social vices in the Nigerian schools, essence of good governance and essential factors to stimulate the economy of any state, particularly, the Kogi state. These were the highlight of the occasion tailored for creative thinking, general knowledge and enhancing practical approach to solve the current realities.

At least, ten schools were eliminated in the preliminary stages in an action parked exercise. Subsequently, two resilient and vibrant schools, Government Science Secondary School, Ogaminana, and Adavi LG Science Secondary School, Ozuwuri, fought their ways to semifinal and eventually, Government Science Secondary School Ogaminana emerged victorious as overall winner of the competition.

While commenting on the success of the organised debate competion, the chairman of the of occasion, member of ICC, Hon. Joshua Gbodi, saluted Governor Yahaya Bello for the introduction of 'Free Education' as one of his cardinal campaign promises that would meet the yearnings of Kogi people. He also lauded the impact of OSSC to have consistently supporting the education system, adding that each student's household should vote Ododo into the Lugard House comes November 11, as the best way to reciprocate the achievements recorded by APC led government in the state.

In his remarks, the leader of the team, Engr. Chatta Ubaid, maintained that the dexterity and strength of character shown by the entire participants during the event were clear evidence that the Kogi state future in education is bright.

The convener of OSSC, Comr. Umar Abduljelil Adabara, said the ongoing programme is a selfless service to support humanity, particularly, the most vulnerable students who are willing to learn. He appreciated the donors and philanthropists who provided exercise books to support vulnerable and dedicated students in Kogi schools as great partners in progress.

Other members of the team, Mall. Yunoos Ohzy, Comr. Usman Osuwa, Comr. Muhammed Seikina and Comr. Ize Salihu thanked the representatives of various schools for their attendance.
