The Presidential Election Petition Court (PREPEC), on Friday in Abuja admitted in evidence some documents tendered by the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar in proof of his petition against the declaration of Tinubu as winner of the February 25 presidential election.
However, upon examination, it was observed that there were discrepancies within the documents. While Tinubu's NYSC certificate bore the name "Tinubu Bola Adekunle," his South West College transcript indicated the gender of the bearer as "female."
Additional exhibits tendered and accepted by the court included a notarized judgment from a United States court regarding the criminal forfeiture of assets allegedly belonging to Tinubu, a certificate of service from Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc, and a printout of an alleged Guinean passport associated with him
However, Tinubu, INEC, and his party, who are all defendants in Atiku and PDP's legal challenge against the outcome of the presidential election, raised objections to the admissibility of the presented documents. Each respondent, represented by their respective lawyers, stated that they would provide detailed reasons for their objections during the final address stage of the proceedings.
In a similar vein, the five-member panel of the presidential election court, led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, accepted the documents as evidence. However, they announced that a ruling on the respondents' objections would be delivered alongside the final judgment in the petition
These documents were submitted by Mike Enahoro-Ebah, who appeared as the 27th witness for the petitioners.
