Kogi Central APC Primary: “I Am the Authentic Winner, Not Yahaya Bello” — Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro

Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro, APC Kogi Central Senatorial Aspirant and Secretary of the APC UK Chapter, has rejected the controversial results announced by self-acclaimed returning officers in the just concluded APC Kogi Central Senatorial Primary Election.

According to Chief Obaro, results independently collated by his agents across polling units, wards, and local government areas clearly show that he emerged victorious in the exercise.

The authentic results gathered by our agents are as follows:

• Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro — 44,270 votes

• H.E Yahaya Bello — 20,092 votes
• Ibrahim Yakubu Adoke — 1,985 votes

However, the figures allegedly announced by the so-called returning officers were:

• H.E Yahaya Bello — 72,399 votes
• Yakubu Adoke — 319 votes
• Chief M.Y Obaro — 188 votes

These figures are not only suspicious but completely unrealistic, mathematically impossible, and politically insulting to the intelligence of APC members across Kogi Central.

How can one individual poll 72,399 votes out of approximately 76,800 accredited party members in a competitive primary election where other aspirants also enjoy massive grassroots support across wards and local governments?

Even more ridiculous is the claim that I secured only 8 votes in Okene LGA out of over 5,850 registered APC members despite my overwhelming popularity and political structure within the area.

This is daylight manipulation and a desperate attempt to impose a predetermined outcome on the people.

I therefore challenge the electoral officers and those behind these fabricated figures to publicly release and break down the results ward by ward and polling unit by polling unit for proper verification by party stakeholders and the general public.

Furthermore, serious concerns remain regarding the eligibility of former Governor Yahaya Bello to even participate in the primary election due to unresolved controversies surrounding his screening process and other legal and political issues that were raised before the exercise.

The APC must not allow impunity, manipulation, and injustice to destroy the credibility of its internal democratic process in Kogi Central.

The will of the people must prevail.

Signed:
Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro
APC Kogi Central Senatorial Aspirant
Secretary, APC UK Chapter
