We write with utmost respect and a deep sense of responsibility as a concerned stakeholder from Ajaokuta Local Government Area regarding the recent selection of delegates for the forthcoming National Convention.
While we acknowledge your leadership and commitment to the progress of Kogi State, it has become necessary to draw your attention to an issue that has generated considerable concern among party members and constituents within Ajaokuta. Specifically, the process of delegate selection appears to be lopsided, as it is reported that a single district has produced three delegates, to the exclusion of the other two districts that collectively form Ajaokuta Local Government Area.
Your Excellency, Ajaokuta is comprised of three distinct districts, each with its own political structure, grassroots support base, and loyal party members who have consistently contributed to the growth and stability of the party. We have different tribes that made up Ajaokuta Local Government who are voters too.
The principle of fairness, inclusiveness, and equity demands that each district be given equal opportunity and representation, especially in matters as critical as delegate selection for a National Convention.
The current situation, if left unaddressed, risks fostering discontent, weakening party unity, and alienating committed members whose voices deserve to be heard. It may also undermine the democratic ideals that the party stands for, particularly at a time when cohesion and collective participation are most needed.
In light of the above, I respectfully urge Your Excellency to:
- This exercise has gone for the future stands to be corrected sir, kindly review the selection process for political activities in Ajaokuta Local Government Area.
- Ensure equitable representation across all three districts.
- Promote transparency and inclusivity in party affairs to maintain trust and confidence among members.
Your timely intervention in this matter will not only restore balance but also reaffirm your commitment to justice, fairness, and the unity of the party in Kogi State.
Thank you for your attention and for your continued service to the people of Kogi State.
