PRESS RELEASE: VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE PASSED ON COMRADE AHMED SAKA BACHIDO, PRESIDENT-GENERAL OF EBIRA YOUTH CONGRESS (EYC)

PRESS RELEASE: VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE PASSED ON COMRADE AHMED SAKA BACHIDO, PRESIDENT-GENERAL OF EBIRA YOUTH CONGRESS (EYC)

15th January 2026.

VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE PASSED ON COMRADE AHMED SAKA BACHIDO, PRESIDENT-GENERAL OF EBIRA YOUTH CONGRESS (EYC)

Following a thorough assessment and critical evaluation of Comrade Ahmed Saka Bachido's one-year administration as the President-General of the Ebira Youth Congress (EYC), concerns have been raised regarding some of his unconstitutional actions, which he has intentionally ignored to date. Additionally, the issue of our secretariat being locked due to his failure to forward the funds he promised to use for the occupancy fee to the landlord has further compounded these concerns. As a result, key members of the National Executive Council (NEC) have unanimously passed a vote of no confidence in his leadership

This decision was reached after careful consideration of his conduct, leadership style, and overall performance since his inauguration. The NEC observed, with deep concern, that his administration has been largely characterized by the following:

1. Gross violation of the core ideology and principles upon which the Ebira Youth Congress was founded.

2. Persistent disregard for the collective authority and counsel of the National Executive Council.

3. Unilateral decision-making and operations, contrary to democratic and constitutional provisions of the Congress.

4. Frequent and avoidable conflicts with both NEC members and non-members, fostering disunity and mistrust.

5. High-handedness and intolerance of dissenting views.

6. An autocratic leadership style, incompatible with the spirit of teamwork and youth inclusiveness.

7. Lack of focus, vision, and strategic initiatives capable of advancing the objectives of EYC.

8. Comrade Ahmed Saka Bachido is implicated in the misappropriation of EYC funds.

9. There are confirmed instances where Bachido has involved the EYC in political matters, despite the organization's non-partisan stance since its inception.

After a year in office, the NEC finds it difficult to point to any concrete developmental, organizational, or advocacy milestones attributable to his administration. Rather than purposeful leadership and measurable progress, his tenure has been marked by excessive rhetoric without corresponding action.

In view of the above, the NEC hereby declares that it has lost confidence in the ability of Comrade Ahmed Saka Bachido to continue to function as the President-General of the Ebira Youth Congress. His leadership no longer reflects the values, aspirations, and collective will of the EYC.

As a result, Comrade Ahmed Saka Bachido is no longer the President General of the Ebira Youth Congress (EYC).

Comrade Suberu Shehu Asipita is now the Acting President General of the Ebira Youth Congress (EYC).

This resolution is taken in the best interest of EYC, its members, and the broader Ebira youth constituency, with a firm commitment to restoring integrity, unity, and purposeful leadership within the organization.
