The operation has now commenced with the demolition of a suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) hideout in Sambel, Idoji, Okene Local Government Area.
This action follows a series of terrorist activities in the state, including one incident that can be linked to the burning of the house belonging to Ohireba Obanyi of Ebiraland in Uhuodo few days ago.
Recall that a few months ago, terrorist chief negotiator Sheikh Gumi alleged that 90% of the terrorists terrorising Kogi State and the South West of Nigeria are Ebira people who have been indoctrinated with extremist ideologies.
Recently, the mastermind of the Deeper Life Bible Church massacre in Okene, who is a leader of the Ansaru terrorist group was recaptured and arraigned.
These incidents demonstrate a pattern of extremist ideologies taking root in the area.
The state government however, has vowed to vehemently root them out to ensure lasting peace and prosperity for Kogi State.
