Dr. Habiba Suleiman Conducts On-the-Spot Assessment of Secondary Schools in Kabba and Iyara

The Chairman of the Kogi State Secondary Education Board (KGSSEB), Dr. Habiba Suleiman, has reiterated the commitment of the State Government to improving the quality of secondary education through effective supervision and infrastructural development. She made this known during her on-the-spot assessment visit to several secondary schools in Kabba and Iyara.

During the visit, Dr. Suleiman commended the Principal of St. Barnabas Secondary School, Kabba, Mr. Teddy Joseph, for his dedication to instilling discipline among students. She applauded his leadership and the positive impact of his efforts on the overall academic environment of the school.

She also expressed satisfaction with the level of professionalism displayed by the principals of St. Monica's College, Kabba; Iyara Muslim College; Ijumu Anglican Science Secondary School, Iyara; Community High School, Iyara; and LGSS Otu-Egunbe. According to Dr. Suleiman, their commitment to excellence and effective management of their institutions is crucial to achieving the desired standard in secondary education across the State.

Emphasizing the purpose of her visit, Dr. Suleiman noted that the exercise was aimed at experiencing firsthand the learning conditions in these schools and identifying areas that require urgent intervention. "The essence of this visit is to see and feel the natural habitat of these schools and colleges, assess their needs, and work towards improving their facilities," she stated.

Dr. Suleiman reaffirmed the State Government's commitment to ensuring that secondary school students receive the best learning experience possible. She assured that recommendations would be made for necessary improvements in infrastructure, teaching aids, and general learning conditions across the State’s secondary schools.

The visit underscores the KGSSEB’s proactive approach in ensuring that students learn in conducive environments and that teachers are well-equipped to deliver quality education. Dr. Suleiman called on all stakeholders to support the government’s efforts in advancing secondary education in Kogi State.
