What is happening in Kano is not new. You recall Governor Abubakar Rimi split the Kano emirate into seven emirates

In an interview with THE SUN, former Secretary General of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Anthony Sani, weighed in on the ongoing emirate crisis in Kano State following the return of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the Emir of Kano, four years after his deposition.

Sani stated that the situation in Kano is not unprecedented, recalling historical events where similar issues had arisen. He mentioned that during Governor Abubakar Rimi's tenure, the Kano emirate was split into seven emirates, a decision later reversed by Governor Sabo Bakin Zuwo without significant turmoil. Sani stated that the paramount concern for Kano State should be the maintenance of peace.

In his words: “What is happening in Kano is not new. You recall Governor Abubakar Rimi split the Kano emirate into seven emirates. Governor Sabo Bakin Zuwo came in and reversed it without much ado. What we all pray for is everything being done in Kano should be in peace.Without peace, the state would not develop
