Former Gov Yahaya Bello Defiantly Calls For President Tinubu to Caution EFCC over Alleged Witch Hunt

Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene and caution the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and its Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukayode, for allegedly flouting court orders during an attempted arrest at his Abuja residence earlier today. Bello emphasized that Nigeria is not a lawless country and expressed serious concern over law enforcement agencies disregarding court rulings, warning that such actions could lead to anarchy.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Onogwu Muhammed, in Abuja, Bello highlighted President Tinubu's administration's commitment to upholding the rule of law. He criticized the EFCC's alleged misuse of its authority, suggesting that the agency might have become a tool for settling personal scores at the expense of its integrity and Nigeria's image

Bello described the EFCC's attempted arrest as unfortunate and a significant setback in the fight against corruption. Earlier today, EFCC operatives reportedly arrived at Mr. Bello's residence in Wuse Zone 4 around 9:30 am to effect his arrest, sparking controversy and legal discussions regarding the agency's methods.
