I wrote this letter on behalf of my humble self and the poor masses humbly requesting you to use your good office as a Distinguished Senator of Federal Republic of Nigeria, representing the good people of Kogi Central, a Philanthropist to come to the aides of the less privilege and orphans that can not afford to pay for their WAEC FEE by paying for their NECO 2024 examination fee since most of them was unable to registered for WAEC 2024 or benefits from state government free payment for WAEC due to the criteria used (2021 BECE) to paid for the students.
With due respect ma, I stand as one of the stakeholders and concerned citizens who so much disliked this recent sudden increase in WAEC and NECO registration fees.
The increase has a negative impact on the downtrodden especially during this hard economy, Investigation revealed that, the number of students who sat for WAEC before the last increment times three the number who participated in the recent previous years, talk more of this year that things are so hard.
According to a veritable source, the hike in WAEC fee is from #18,000 to #27,000 while NECO as an indigenous examination body made theirs almost 80% that is #17,500 to #22,500.
Considering the level of insecurity and unemployment rate in our dear country, skyrocketing examination fees by the two notable examination bodies at this point in time is barbaric and totally uncalled for and can incite the poor masse and if urgent Intervention to assist our youths, Kogi Central will in future prone to crisis again, may we never witness what had happened in our dear land before.
The high level of poverty in your senatorial district could hardly allow people to afford paying such huge amount to settle their children's extermination fees.
During the last year's NECO and WAEC examination registrations, a number of students withdrew from school having spent 12 years educating themselves as a result of inability to pay only one out of the two examination fees. What a colossal waste of time and resources?
Our children's futures are no longer guaranteed because if a child can withdraw from school due to his/her parents' inability to pay his/her examination fee, it means Ebiralan is in danger taking into cognisance psychological or social effect it may have on the child.
Your distinguished ma, we have been advocating for girl-child education at all levels of education but there is no disparity in the payments of male and female students' examination fees.
Ma, we urge and plead you to make the payments of NECO examination.
Your Distinguished Senator, intervene, advise, and bring those that can assist to register for the remaining students. This is my humble submission. Thank you ma!!!
