Education Intervention: BoT Chair Of OSSC Donates Office Furnitures, Tables, and Chairs to Okene Secondary School, Upogo
A Kogi elite, a renowned philanthropist and humanitarian champion who also doubled as a BoT chairman of the Ododo School to School Campaign (OSSC) organisation, Engr. Aliyu Omeiza Muhammad, today, November 17, 2023, donated office furnitures (tables and chairs) to the Management team of Okene Secondary School (OSS)Upogo in Okene, Kogi state.
The school, which has been in a moribund state until recently, when the government decided to revive the institution via the appointment of a result-oriented principal with a hardworking team to turn around the fortunes of the school by restoring its lost glory.
Following the government's decision to resuscitate the old Okene Secondary School with rich history, the alma mater constituents which Engr. Aliyu Omeiza Muhammad belongs swiftly provided the crucial intervention to facilitate the conducive environment for learning via donations of writing materials and student chairs and tables.
In his speech, the organisation director general, Engr. Chatta Ubeid sensitised students about the objectives of OSSC, highlighted towering supports provided by the BoT Chairman, and charged the students to make use of the facilties judiciously.
In his words, while handing over the facilities, the philanthropic icon, Engr. Aliyu Omeiza Muhammad, said it was the happiest moment for him in providing aids for the school to enhance good academic learning.
Engr. Aliyu Omeiza Muhammad said, "I am delighted to be in your mist, I am a product of this school, and OSS is my alma mater. I completed my form five in 1988, it was a glittering academic career period where the students are not only the cynosure of the eye, but also the driving force to reckon with in all ramifications in terms of striving for excellence
"I want to congratulate you and receive this my presence today as a call to work hard for fabulous performance in your future academic pursuits. I am hopeful that when you finish from this school with determinations and resilience, you will join the league of successful and accomplished men.
While responding, the principal, Comr. Abduljelil Umar Adabara, commended and praised the timely intervention of the old students, Engr. Aliyu Omeiza and Comr. Yekini, particularly when the school was in dire need of such facilities. He used the medium to solicit for more assistance from the people of goodwill to fill the widening gaps of facility deficits in the institution.
