The event was tailored to unleash the potential, revive the speaking habit and prowess of participants with ability to facilitate future development and growth in the education sector of the state.
Atleast, ten different Secondary schools attended the action packed event with the topical issues of difference between public and private schools and consequences of drug abuse in Nigeria.
Indeed, it was a busy day for the panel of judges in view of the competitiveness, brilliance and performances displayed by the debaters. The judges were meticulous during the flow of the debate to capture every speech, point of information and point from the floor with equal attention, without fear or favour. Finally, the panel based their judgement on the persuasion, reasoning and provision of convincing strong evidence of arguments.
With the amazing skills exhibited, the panel concluded that all the attendees performed satisfactorily and they should be awarded with branded exercise books. The assessment showed clearly that Ajaokuta secondary schools is a force to reckon with in the education system of Kogi state.
In his address, the director general of the organisation, Engr. Chatta Ubeid, said the fabulous performance witnessed was a true reflection of hard work, dedication and discipline the teachers had instilled in their students overtime. He also used the medium to sensitise the gatherings to vote Hon. Ododo Ahmed Usman in the November 11 governorship election for the continuity of the programme.
While in his vote of thanks, the OSSC coordinator of Ajaokuta, Comr. Abdulsalam Hussein, extolled the governor for free education declaration and infrastructural development in Kogi state, particularly in Ajaokuta through his indefatigable chairman. Hon. Mustapha Aliyu Aka'aba, who has demonstrated dynamic leadership and youth mobilisation.
