Shehu Sani urge parents to adopt public schools

One of the major challenges facing the Nigerian parent is the cost of educating their wards. It is often viewed that private schools offer quality education over public schools. While this is not far from the truth, private schools also charge more than public schools.

Although public schools are funded by the government the disparity between it and privately owned schools is significant. Hence, parents find themselves haven to choose between getting quality education and reducing expenses.

Amidst the current economic crunch in Nigeria, a former lawmaker has suggested parents adopt a public school where they can ensure their wards get quality education.

Senator Shehu Sani urged parents who struggle to afford sending their kids to private schools to take the initiative, by organising themselves to adopt the closest public school. He stated that when they renovate such schools and motivate the teachers, the children would be properly educated.

He made the suggestion via X, and according to him;

"Parents who can’t afford the expensive private schools should organise themselves and renovate the closest public school and motivate the teachers to deliver better services for their kids."

Do you agree with Sen. Shehu Sani?
