The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology was recognised by President’s School Debate Nigeria in Collaboration With National Senior Secondary Education Commission(NSSEC) held at Federal Ministry of Education FCT, Abuja
According to the group, Jones was nominated for using “basic education as a tool to fight insecurity and other criminal activities, a blueprint that is being adopted by other states. This has set the state on the right track for socio-economic development”.
Congratulating the commissioner, the OSSC added that Jones “has adopted a multi-dimensional approach such as School Adoption and Mentorship Program and reinforcement of Education Task Force activities.
The creation of Kogi State School Adootion and Mentorship Program, is a transformation, a game changer that has brought students closer to their studies.
In a statement signed by its Convener, Abduljelil Umar Adabara, the group further said Jones has impressed in other aspects of leadership, including supportive role for various education support groups.
The group, however, urged other state commissioner for education in the country to emulate his leadership style.
