Members of Hon. Ahmed Tijani~Ahmed Yusuf Damisa Central Working Committee led the Site Engineers from Lower Niger Basin, Illorin, Kwara State arrived in Okene local government area of kogi state to commence the rehabilitation of the road linking ancient towns of Onyukoko, Orietesu, Bariki and other villages in Okene-Ogori Magongo Federal Constituency of Kogi State with equipments on the way to the site.
The road rehabilitation, being an integral part of projects lined up for execution by the Lawmaker representing Okene-Ogori Magongo Federal Constituency.Flagging off the rehabilitation work, the LNB in Kwara State headed by Engr Seun Ayodele and Designed Engr. Victor Adeleye assured community leaders in the area of an enduring job which will put paid to incessant damage to critical portions of the road.
Addressing people at the flag off ceremony, Rep Ahmed~Tijani Damisa who spoke through his Aide, Hon. Ibrahim Kadoka thanked the Site Engineers for complimenting his boss efforts at bringing a definite end to the untold pains residents of Onyukoko, Orietesu, Bariki and other adjoining communities have been facing on the road for several decades.
Two notable community leaders at the event, Engr. Isah Ohindasi and Aroke Talit expressed joy that Hon. Ahmed~Tijani Yusuf Damisa was eventually able to break the age long jinx of neglect the road has suffered.
The rehabilitation according to them, would ease pressure on other alternate routes in the area as farmers and other prospective users of the road would have no problem transporting their farm produce and other services to other parts of the community.
A road user, Abdullahi Captain, said the roads has been a major challenge for road users and market women in the community but thank God for the federal lawmaker who has found it necessary to put the road back to good shape.
